This is another piece I made with gold filled wire. Gold filled wire is made by wrapping a sheet of pure gold around a bronze core and heating and compressing them to bond. It's much better than gold plating ,which can rub off.
The stone I used is a black sardonyx, and it has some really cool natural patterns on the side of the stone. The stone was mined in Brazil. I used a wrapping technique similar to the paint brush jasper I wrapped to try and leave as much of the face uncovered as possible.
