This pendant has a stone that I saw at a gem show, and left behind because it would have been just too expensive to set and sell. After I left it there, my best friend and boyfriend conspired to buy it for me. My boyfriend wrapped it and they both gave it to me for Christmas. (Yes, my boyfriend wraps too... he's actually done half of the work we've put up, and we're pretty certain you can't tell whose pendants are whose :P ) Well, I was pretty surprised and excited to see this labradorite again! Now I don't have to worry about trying to sell it or anything. I think this picture captures pretty well why I thought this was such an amazing stone.

The design was based on this actinolite pendant, though the stones couldn't be more different.

Edit: I added two different angles of this pendant to see the lab better, here and here.

I think your beau and your pal did VERY well. I'd definitely be happy with that stone! Since labradoriate is such a picky, picky stone to photograph, I look forward to seeing some of the other shots that you took. :plotting:

It has even more interesting flashes and colors from other angles - it was even more difficult to photograph than other labs I've tried.

Yes it really is a pain to photograph these types of stones, especially if there are several and you're trying to catch the flash in all of then :iconstaresplz:

I guess I'm lucky that I'm only trying to capture one stone at a time. It's still difficult!

That must be one of the most brilliant labradorite pieces out there - what a gorgeous display of colors. Very lucky :D

I think it was the best out of the six big boxes of labs at the gem show... I probably won't see another piece like it for a while.

But I don't have to, since I have this one :)
