Since larimar matches both gold and silver so well, it seems like all of my larimar cabochons end up as mixed metal pendants. My other larimar pendant was the first time I tried alternating the half round wire, and this time I tried mismatching the gauge of half round too!
Larimar is only found in one small region of the Dominican Republic and, like its origin, it looks like the light-scatter floor of a tropical sea. I'm not sure how much longer the larimar deposits will hold out, so I've started saving a few pieces, just in case.

Absolutely beautiful. I don't see Larimar in jewelry art very often, and I'm especially surprised to see one wrapped in wire (though pleasantly surprised). Very very nice!
Well congrats to getting a stone source with larimar, I thought you could only purchase it in the region its mined, cause it is so rare... Although, I've never really looked into it. Those stones are so beautiful! I have a dolphin necklace with larimar in it that I cherish, but the stone specimen is really small. You're pieces are large enough that you can really see the designs within the stones.
The camera probably caught more reds in the stone than a human eye, but it's definitely there a little. I've read that there are all sorts of other colors in larimar, but they're very rare.
