Smoky Quartz Pendant in Gold

This stone sometimes goes by the name 'smoky topaz', though it is actually a quartz. Similar to other bicolor stones, this occurs when a stone is hardening with slightly different conditions in different places. This is the boundary of clear and dark brown/black along a quartz. I wrapped it in gold filled wire, and added wings so that the pendant doesn't roll around on your chest. This is another claw-style pendant that lets the light through the gemstone better than if the back was flat against the wearer.
